FLAX SPINNING
$100
DESCRIPTION
Flax is a natural plant fibre that produces a luxurious fabric called linen when processed. Linen is a great alternative to plastic fibre because of the breathability and the low impact on the environment.
In this class you will learn how to process the raw harvested flax fibres and then spin it into a usable skein of yarn. With this yarn you can weave, knit or incorporate into your other fabric projects.
Participants will have a chance to spin on a drop spindle, various manual spinning wheels and with an e-spinner.
If you are a textile artist who has wanted to experience a 'field to fabric' fibre workshop this is for you.
