DESCRIPTION
This course is designed for novice watercolour painters. Students who have previous experience with watercolours or have taken the 'Intro to Watercolours' will find this valuable. Learn how to interpret 2 very different landscape scenes and progress quickly on your journey with watercolours.
Students will be led step by step through the creation of 2 small (8.5 x 11) watercolour landscape studies. Instructor will provide photographs that represent a similar scene in 2 different seasons – Winter, and Summer.
Cati's goal is to take the fear factor out of watercolour and make it fun for new artists!
DATES & TIMES
SUN APRIL 19th 10:00am to 3:00pm
YOUR TUTOR
Cati VanVeen
Cati took her first watercolour course at the University of Guelph where she did her Bachelor of Fine Arts, many years ago! Her first experience was not great, she had painted extensively in acrylics and found that watercolour was very challenging.
Over the years she has painted many portraits and landscapes in this medium. As a high school art teacher she shared her skills and her techniques with hundreds of students. She learned how to teach the basic elements that anyone can build on and have fun with!
Cati retired from teaching in 2023 and she has since opened a studio on her property where she has been happily painting many sunset scenes on slate tiles and, of course, watercolours!
