KIDS SUMMER CAMP - CLAY AND SCULPTURE
The Georgian Bay Centre for the Arts
Owen Sound, N4K2H6
How to get there
$360
DESCRIPTION
Sculptors are the engineers of the art world. Working with a broad range of materials campers will construct large scale artworks. Think robot prosthetics and kinetic mobiles. Problem solving, applied forces and aesthetic considerations will drive your childs creative impulses during this week. Get ready to be blown away with the projects for this camp.
This dual focus camp also includes clay which is a sculptural medium as well. Participants will experience throwing clay on the wheel and handbuilding clay in various ways. Surface decoration and carving techniques will allow your child to develop an individual style for their pottery.
With singalongs, play breaks, movie time and kid friendly lunches, this will be a fun and creative experience for your child. Friday afternoon will feature a time for a parents/guardians showcase where your children can proudly display their work and introduce you to their tools and workspaces that they used all week.
LUNCH IS INCLUDED!
*You will be sent a field trip form to read, sign, and return before camp starts.
**Please write your child’s name, age, and any food allergies they may have in the comments when signing up for a ticket. AGES 8-13.
