KIDS SUMMER CAMP - CLAY AND PAINTING
The Georgian Bay Centre for the Arts
Owen Sound, N4K2H6
How to get there
$360
DESCRIPTION
This dual focus camp involves clay and painting, 2D and 3D. What a great way to spend the week.
Working with clay is a great way to explore working in 3D and it is a tactile experience that uses your hands as tools. Campers will explore wheel throwing as well as hand building during this session. Various projects will expand their ability to work spatially while building with this malleable material. Clay camp is always a popular one so sign up early.
Paint in all of its forms is a great way to explore colour, composition and form. This camp will let the campers explore a wide variety of painting mediums; acrylic, watercolour, inks, pastels etc. while learning to sketch and draw their favourite topics. Plein air painting out by the river gets the campers out in the fresh air and observing the world around them. Visits to local galleries will introduce your child to the works of local artist and the wider arts community in Owen Sound.
With singalongs, play breaks and kid friendly lunches, this will be a fun and creative experience for your child. Friday afternoon will feature a time for a parents/guardians showcase where your children can proudly display their work and introduce you to their tools and workspaces that they used all week.
LUNCH IS INCLUDED!
*You will be sent a field trip form to read, sign, and return before camp starts.
**Please write your child’s name, age, and any food allergies they may have in the comments when signing up for a ticket. AGES 8-13.
