DESCRIPTION

AGES 8-13.

Paint in all of its forms is a great way to explore colour, composition and form. This camp will let the campers explore a wide variety of painting mediums; acrylic, watercolour, inks, pastels etc. while learning to sketch and draw their favourite topics. Plein air painting out by the river gets the campers out in the fresh air and observing the world around them. Visits to local galleries will introduce your child to the works of local artist and the wider arts community in Owen Sound.

Campers will also focus on graffiti and urban gorilla arts? Here's a chance to experience both by using non-traditional art tools to delve into this counterculture art form. There will be city walk-arounds to explore the urban markings around Owen Sound and to find the potential of urban art. Fun and unusual art projects will expand the campers sense of what is considered art.

With singalongs, play breaks and kid friendly lunches, this will be a fun and creative experience for your child. Friday afternoon will feature a time for a parents/guardians showcase where your children can proudly display their work and introduce you to the tools and workspaces that they used all week.

All materials will be supplied

Proper attire and sun protection for going outside - we will be walking 2 blocks to the Tom Thomson Art Gallery

Dress for mess

If your child has long hair please put it back with a hair tie 

There will be a break during the morning and afternoon, so please send your child with snacks and a drink.
