Create an lovely, fuzzy new friend! In this workshop, you will develop the skills to make a four legged animal, using braided string as reinforcement for the legs. You will also learn how to attach glass eyes onto a needle felted animal.
Demonstrations of the basic needle felting techniques will take place throughout the workshop and a step-by-step instructional booklet will be provided. All materials are included and yours to take home! If you don't complete the polar bear during the workshop, you will have all you need to finish on your own.
*Prerequisite: As this is a more advanced project, the prerequisite for this class is one of Elizabeth's needle felting classes, or to have experience forming a needle felted ball, pear shape and animal ears (or wings/beak shape).
Elizabeth is a certified yoga instructor. For those interested, she will guide students in a seated stretch break. She will teach some helpful stretches to do when immersed in art and craft!
Approximate finished polar bear size: 5 cm
YOUR TUTOR
Elizabeth formally studied painting, but would go home at night and spend hours drawing caricatures of people and strange, little animals. Much later, she made friends with her sewing machine and became a quilter... and this is where the fun began. Later still, Elizabeth moved into working with felt. Playing with fabric, felt and wool... she loves it all!
Qualified as an elementary teacher, art teacher, and yoga instructor, Elizabeth finds joy in interactions with students of all ages.
