DESCRIPTION
Come and begin your knitting journey in a friendly group environment. You will learn how to; cast on, the knit and purl stitch, and how to cast off. You will also get started on your first project making a scarf or cowl. With the patient assistance of your instructor Paula Drouilard early problems of tension and stitch size will be corrected so your knitting can progress evenly.
This class walks you through knitting a sleek, seamless cowl in the round. We’ll cover simple techniques that create a clean, professional finish without the fuss. Great as a personal knit or an easy one-skein gift, you’ll leave with a go-to project you can customize again and again.
• Tubular cast-on and bind-off options
• Joining in the round without twisting

YOUR TUTOR
Paula Drouillard is an accomplished knitter and knitting instructor. She will guide you through your introduction to this enduring heritage craft.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING
Needles and yarn will be provided for work in class.
If a participant wants to go home with their project they will need to bring needles (6mm circular)and yarn (chunky),or they can purchase supplies at Riverside during our tour at a 15% discount.
