DESCRIPTION

Have you ever wanted to try oil paints but felt intimidated or unsure? Painter Katharine Kennie will show you that using oils can be as simple or as complicated as you make it. Katharine believes oil painting is actually extremely beginner friendly and offers some benefits over other painting mediums.

We will be discussing all the basic materials in an oil painting studio, and you will get some hands on experience doing some short exercises with this medium and then we will create a small painting of your own.

This workshop is perfect for total beginners or painters that are familiar with other mediums (such as acrylic, gouache or watercolour). 

Please come prepared with any questions you might have and an open mind to experimenting!

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING

 Dress in clothing that you don’t mind getting stained and dirty. Oil paint can be messy.

Brushes, solvents and paint and boards will be supplied by GBArts.
