DESCRIPTION
In this hands-on workshop you will be taught the basics of traditional rug hooking. Your instructor will give you an overview of the best materials and tools to use while you start your first project. With the help of Cheryl Harnack you will master the best techniques to achieve a polished result.
In addition you will learn how to create and transfer your own patterns to the cloth, cut and prepare your wool strips and you will be referred to various rug hooking resources and suppliers.
Rug hooking is both a craft and an ancient art form that has been around for centuries. This is a meditative, creative, colourful and expressive art form. There are rug hooking groups all across the country that keep this craft alive. Expect to fall in love with this folk art craft and become one of the thousands of rug hooking fanatics.
The workshop includes: rug hook (yours to keep), and Monk’s cloth for one project, wool strips and a hoop to work on.
