DESCRIPTION
This 3-day intensive pottery launchpad is the perfect introduction to wheel throwing. Make this part of your summer vacation or take a long weekend and start your pottery journey.
Beginning on day one, participants will learn to centre, open, and pull a cylinder, which is the basis of most vase forms. On day two, you will explore bowl forms and practice, practice, practice. Trimming and practical modifications to your vessels will be introduced. Day three, will be about attachments and decoration techniques that will turn your pieces into beautiful, functional pottery. 16+
A small class size and our experienced instructors will ensure a successful start to your clay journey.
All pieces made during class will be glazed and ready for pick up within 2 weeks.

Sharon Zhao
Sharon first learned to throw on the wheel after university, but put the craft on hold when she lived in Southeast Asia. After relocating back to North America 8 years ago, she enthusiastically returned to pottery. A newcomer to the Grey-Bruce region, Sharon loves making functional pieces, exploring unique surface textures, and sharing her passion with students and members at GB Arts.
