DESCRIPTION
3-Day Intermediate Jewellery Making Workshop
Ready to build on your basic jewellery-making skills? This three-day workshop is designed for students who have completed a beginner course or have some experience at the bench. Through a series of projects, you’ll expand your fabrication skills and explore more advanced techniques while creating unique pieces in sterling silver, copper, and brass.
Techniques may include:
* Advanced soldering
* Layering and mixed metals
* Riveting and cold connections
* Forming and shaping
* Texture and surface treatments
* Finishing and polishing
Students will leave with several completed pieces, increased confidence at the bench, and a broader jewellery-making skill set. All tools and materials are provided.
Students that have completed this course will be eligible for full open studio privledges in the jewelry studio at GB Arts.
Material fee: $65 due at the beginning of class.

YOUR TUTOR
Shannon Kennedy is a full-time metalsmith who creates inspiring jewellery and wearable art sculptures at her studio in Globe Studios in Kitchener. Shannon has over 20 years experience with the craft since graduating from OCAD. She then studied metalsmithing at the George Brown College and then opened her business Cynosure Jewelry in 2004. For over 10 years Shannon has been a faculty member of the Jewellery Arts program at Haliburton School of Art and Design (HSAD).
