DESCRIPTION

Kinusaiga is a modern Japanese art form that creates a textured 3 dimensional picture using scraps of fabric. This no-sew fabric art allows you to explore your creative ideas without having to know how to use a sewing machine.

In this class you will learn to interpret a landscape of your choice using Kinusaiga. Landscapes are a staple of the art repertoire and this is a great medium to explore; colour, pattern and texture, and how it relates to your image. Compile a palette from the vast collection of fabric remnants here at GB Arts, interpret your image as a contour drawing and prepare your panel. Then it's down to the hard work of constructing your landscape. This meditative art form gives you the time to explore the relationship between colour, form and texture, refining your image as you go. What a great way to make art.

Your finished project will be fixed in a frame ready to hang when you get home.

The finished picture will be 12" x 16"
